RHYTHMS OF TRADITIONAL WORK: JOINT MUSIC AND ART WORKSHOP
Ladies from the local arts and crafts guild came into school one Saturday to show pupils how to spin and felt wool.
The aims of this day were:
MUSIC:to demonstrate how Waulking songs use the rhythm women created when beating wool to make tweed as the rhythm of this type of gaelic song.
ART:to show pupils new techniques of working with wool in order to give them new ideas and skills for art work.
